Competition time again

Competition time

You have 2 competitions to chose from, you could do either 1 of them or both if you wish. Parents you are more than welcome to help your child.

Upload your pictures, videos, 3D models to either Seesaw (Primary pupils) or Tapestry (EYFS pupils)

Competition 1

To build the tallest tower.

You can make this out of whatever material you have at home, recycled goods if possible. Please measure it and share that measurement.

Competition 2

To make or design a new invention.

Use your imagination and go wild.

Please upload your finished design to Seesaw or Tapestry, whether it is a coloured drawing or an actual 3D model but please explain what it does.

The competition will end on

Friday 29th May at 12:00 noon.

Winners will be announced at our Virtual Celebration assembly on

Friday 5th June.

Art – Design and create an explorer hat. You can use the template provided here or you can choose to draw your own one. Cut it out and stick it to a long strip of paper and wrap it around your head to wear it.

MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS

For this week your challenge is to do as many mountain climbers in 30s as you can.

The first video shows you how to perform the exercise if you have never done it before, please note that the back and bottom do not go up and down but stay level. In the second video it shows the more advanced version where the toe no longer taps the floor and the whole exercise is performed at a faster pace, note the body position is the same as in the first video

To do the challenge you need to count the number of times you bring your knee to your chest. Each time the knee touches your chest add 1 to your score.

Competition time for everyone.

Upload your 100 word story here by 15th May, the winners will be notified on 22nd May during our Celebration assembly.

Here's a challenge for you: To craft and write a 100 word story. Not 99, not 101. 100 words exactly!

Here are the key things to remember.

1) Be original - this is an opportunity to use your imagination and write with creativity. Have fun with a story that nobody else has ever thought of, let alone published on the internet!

2) Every sentence and every word matters - you only have a limited number of words (no more, no less!) so don't just write the first thing that comes into your head - take your time, mull it over, be a wordsmith!

3) And if you can, include a surprise or sudden twist at the end - this makes your story memorable and stand out from the crowd.

If you want to use some of these pictures to give you an idea, please do so. When you have finished writing your story on a word document, copy and paste is into here. Prizes will go to the most original, amazing stories.
